Greetings and welcome!

Hi, I’m Kate—author of soaring high fantasy. Thanks for stopping by. Until I release my debut novels, this site will be pretty bare bones.

What can you expect from my books? Character-driven high/epic fantasy, tonally less idealistic that Tolkien but more hopeful than Martin. So,  somewhere around Hobb, Britain, and Sanderson in tone.

First up is a prequel novel that will be part of an anthology of shorter tales—links in the chain leading to the events of the main story of the Ride the Wild Sky Saga:

About “Born in Frost”

For generations, the scattered clans of the Stormbreath Pass region lived in peace. Now, raiders ravage without consequence. Widowed and weary, Brene fears her kin have little room left to run. But how can one village alone stand against hardened warriors?

When a dragon crashes across her path, hunted and in labor, Brene doesn’t hesitate to defend her, awakening in herself a dormant magic—a power that could unite the clans.

As the villages gather to trade, a notorious warlord descends to reassert his dominance. With newly roused magic singing in her veins, Brene dares to defy him, igniting hope and rebellion. If she can stir the clans to courage, they have a chance.

Rise together or fall alone. The time for retreat is over.

Meet Kate

Author. Dreamer. Photoshop addict. Cow girl (but not cowgirl).

Spoiler of pets. Unapologetic nerd.

Kate Aneth writes character-driven high fantasy full of grit and heart, blending emotional depth with rich worldbuilding. She’s been creating fictional worlds and wrangling characters since childhood and publishing novels for over a decade. Under a different name, she’s the author of 13 small town romances and has even hit the USA Today bestseller list a time or two.

Those rare times when she isn’t writing or daydreaming about writing, you’ll find her designing book covers, exploring the Montana wilds with camera in hand, cutting firewood, or lovingly nurturing a fascination with homesteading sparked by three years working on a cattle ranch.

Her writing is fueled by caffeine and a lifelong love of dragons, magic, and the quiet resilience of hope. Fantasy isn’t just a genre—it’s home.
